Les Nuits Classiques at the Ramatuelle Festival invites you to an exceptional evening for the opening concert on July 29. The program features Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. A universal work and a truly breathtaking musical experience that never fails to captivate, it will be performed in a rare version: Liszt’s transcription for two pianos, played by two great artists, Hélène Mercier and Louis Lortie, with the famous and spectacular “Ode to Joy” featuring a formidable quartet of soloists: soprano Claire de Monteil, mezzo-soprano Delphine Haidan, tenor Valentin Thill, and bass-baritone Nicolas Cavallier, as well as the Toulon Opera Chorus. The following day, two other major works from the repertoire are on the program: Martin Palmeri’s Misatango and Ravel’s Boléro, choreographed by Julien Lestel. Finally, to close out Les Nuits Classiques, we present another evening on July 31 that promises to be exceptional, featuring Lambert Wilson in a program of French chansons and American standards. He will be accompanied by one of today’s greatest clarinetists, Pierre Génisson, and pianist Bruno Fontaine.
